2023

A fantastic debut in the TCR category. At just 16 years old, Attila Bucsi made a race-winning debut in the first TCR race of his career. It was the highlight of 2023 for the M1RA.

After a 100 per cent season in the Swift Cup Europe in 2022, Attila Bucsi had to make an important professional decision. As the Swift Cup cars do not prepare for bigger challenges after a certain point, but he was not allowed to race in a higher category before the age of 16, Bucsi was forced to take a longer break, which the team bridged with tests in a TCR car and behind-the-scenes preparation in the first half of the season.

Bucsi, who celebrated his sixteenth birthday in August, then made his debut in the TCR world for the first time, at the season-closing TCR Eastern Europe round in Brno.

He was fastest in the free practice and was not to be beaten in qualifying. In a close battle, Bucsi beat the champion, Maťo Homola, by eight hundredths of a second and went on to win his first ever TCR race ahead of the experienced Slovakian. In the second race, the young M1RA rider started from ninth place due to a reversed grid, and was eventually flagged off in sixth place.

Thanks to this great success, Attila Bucsi was again named Hungary’s Junior Speed Racer of the Year.
